Architectural detail of Frank Gehry's Guggenheim Museum, Bilbao. When the Museum opened in 1997, it brought new prominence to Bilbao. It is certainly worth travelling to see the architecture although a longer debate could be had about most of the art. However, the stern critic might find the building, especially the exterior, needlessly elaborate. I applaud innovation in architecture but have reservations when form goes well beyond any conceivable function. 200_2_P1000562
