The Palm Springs Art Museum bought the historic 1961 Santa Fe Federal Savings & Loan building in downtown Palm Springs and has rehabilitated the iconic building to create new Architecture and Design Center. The original building was designed by E. Stewart Williams. When completed, the Center will be the country’s first historic structure to be transformed into a free-standing architecture and design museum that is housed in a modern building. My daytime picture of 27 October 2014 noted its imminent opening and, as 9 November draws closer, it seemed appropriate to take a night time shot of a building about to rejoin Palm Springs' landscape. 200_2_P1010831C
