Palm Springs Pride 2015 was a very happy event made so in part by effective but low-key policing as crowd and traffic control were managed with a light touch. The mission statement of the Palm Springs Police reads: "The men and women of the Palm Springs Police Department, empowered by and in partnership with the community, are dedicated to providing professional, ethical, and courteous service to all." and, in one of the great holiday destinations of the US, whether at special events or routinely, this appears to be fulfilled. The Honda ST1300 is the stock bike of the Palm Springs Police and a couple went up and down to help to ensure the steady movement of the parade and the safety of the crowd. 200_2_P1070714

Parade of Planes (47) The Palm Springs Police had a low key but effective presence at the Parade of Planes including this Honda ST1300. The officer had been coming and going with successive aircraft and here pauses on Amado Road whilst fellow officers look on. A well behaved crowd meant light work for the police and event staff. Parade of Planes (12) The Palm Springs Police had a low key but effective presence at the Parade of Planes including this Honda ST1300. Every now and then, the officer had to check which way the planes were going to park, the choices being onto Amado or straight ahead on Avenida Caballeros. With the largest aircraft in the parade, PC-12 N990AG, headed towards the intersection (next eight pictures), the information needed to be correct. It parked on Caballeros.
