This tranquil scene belies to some extent the true nature of this part of Leicester. I love to walk around a city and enjoy its architecture, especially the historical architecture. The River Soar, seen here from the West Bridge, is fairly choked with weed and affected by litter. From a distance, the abandoned Donisthorpe Friars Mill charms across the centuries but, seen more closely, its state of dereliction and that of its surroundings is sad and scars the city. 200_P1040550
