The Hermitage Stream runs from Cowplain through Havant, and out into Langstone Harbour. This is a view west across Barncroft Way (foreground) at Stockheath Lane. Over the years, as population grew, the stream was heavily modified with concrete walls and an artificially straightened channel. Some sections were subsequently restored to a more natural configuration. A great deal of work has gone on to turn its immediate surroundings into areas for walking, cycling and leisure. 200_P1040132
