Since my photographs of 24 June 2014 , Havant's Hermitage Stream has gained a nice new sign on the west side of Barncroft Way. In keeping with my practice of recording such minute detail, I am adding two pictures to my 'Havant' album today.

The Hermitage Stream runs from Cowplain through Havant, and out into Langstone Harbour. This is a view west from Barncroft Way at Stockheath Lane.
Over the years, as population grew, the stream was heavily modified with concrete walls and an artificially straightened channel. Some sections were subsequently restored to a more natural configuration. A great deal of work has gone on to turn its immediate surroundings into areas for walking, cycling and leisure.

Over the years, as population grew, the stream was heavily modified with concrete walls and an artificially straightened channel. Some sections were subsequently restored to a more natural configuration. A great deal of work has gone on to turn its immediate surroundings into areas for walking, cycling and leisure.
