My pursuit of railway history continued today in Sturminster Newton in Dorset where the actual infrastructure of the Somerset & Dorset Joint Railway (S&DJR) has all but disappeared but the route and station are marked. These beautiful gates are at one entrance to Railway Gardens which were created when the cutting formerly containing the tracks was filled in to create a public space. P1170155
