I have been chasing this vehicle for a long time. Hoeford allocated Wrightbus Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TL, First 37161/HY07FTA was seen in the evening at Fareham Bus Station but operates alongside the dedicated Enviro 400s [qv] on Portsmouth Park and Ride. 200_2_P1150450E

On 5 January 2016 First Scania OmniCity 65011/YN54NZG was at Tipner as the spare vehicle for Portsmouth Park and Ride. TZ30_P1030552C

Looking a little dustier than in the first week of service , the spare vehicle, First East Lancs Mylennium Lolyne bodied Dennis Trident 32764/WJ55CSO was in service on Portsmouth Park and Ride on a dull October afternoon. I have commented in the past how photographs of buses also serve a secondary role of recording cinema history. My earlier photograph carried advertising for 'The Quiet Ones'. 200_2_P1070204

First Alexander Dennis Enviro 400 33896/SN14TRV is one of three dedicated buses on the new Portsmouth Park and Ride. All three and the spare are allocated to Hoeford because of engineering issues (with double-deck vehicles) at Hilsea which is closer to the route. The new addition is seen at the Tipner site where, during my second visit, it was the de facto spare even though the actual spare was in service. 200_P1020074

In one of those bizarre manoeuvres you see in the bus world, this vehicle had deposited passengers whilst the Trident was still on stand but had to move forward a few feet to pick up its passengers for the following service. On my second visit, Portsmouth Park and Ride remained so popular that the spare vehicle was in service. Based at Hoeford like the dedicated Enviros, this East Lancs Mylennium Lolyne bodied Dennis Trident is First 32764/WJ55CSO. 200_P1020066

With Portsmouth Park and Ride having been in normal operation on 8 April [qv], I was taken by surprise by the crowds at the Tipner site on my second visit. I had arrived just after the official activities involving the Transport Minister, Baroness Kramer. A few minutes after my arrival the invited guests moved to a marquee allowing me to observe the four buses in service. 200_P1020075

On my first visit to Portsmouth Park and Ride, soon after its opening, I wondered whether this vehicle would ever be able to pull away as more and more passengers arrived. It was 10am, the time at which the service interval changes from 12 to 20 minutes and the school holidays had swelled the number of passengers. In this shot, First Alexander Dennis Enviro 400, 33896/SN14TRV has just closed its doors before moving off towards the City Centre and Historic Dockyard. 200_P1020062

Only a few days after opening, I made my first visit to Portsmouth Park and Ride (Tipner). Passenger loads of the new, First operated, Enviro 400s appeared high. A £2 one day charge is attractive compared to city centre parking charges and the undoubted novelty of this service coincided with the start of the school Easter holidays. 200_P1020056C

I had previously seen this unusually converted vehicle at Netley Marsh where its use as a pub and its sunroof were more obvious.
