Where Am I Now? (CA5) - 15 July 2018

My slow-growing series 'Where Am I Now?' continues in Kingston, Ontario. Yes, this really exists. The Tragically Hip Way is a renamed part of Barrack Street. No. 1 The Tragically Hip Way, at the north east corner of this intersection, is the address of the Leon's Centre (formerly Rogers K-Rock Centre). 200_3_P1060720E

My pictures of street signs are generally reference shots in lieu of written notes to help me to record accurately the location of a particular set of photographs. They serve, however, to record also the enormous variety of such signs. These are in Kingston, Ontario. 200_3_P1030705R

The beautifully preserved Canadian Pacific 4-6-0 No. 1095 'Spirit of Sir John A.' can be seen at Confederation Park, Kingston, Ontario which was once a rail yard and the terminus of the K&P Railway (Kingston and Pembroke Railway). www.cityofkingston.ca/explore/culture-history/history/eng... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kingston_and_Pembroke_Railway Much as I was pleased to discover the locomotive only yards from my hotel, I was equally displeased during my shoot when I saw the cone on the cab roof and saw also that it could not be moved. Deciding that Photoshop, which I use only rarely, was not an option in this instance, I reluctantly conceded that I would have to post my pictures as they are. 200_3_P1030676E

The Dragon Wagon is a 1947 International Series KB3 originally used by Ottawa Police. It was acquired in 1994 by the Kingston Brewing Company and refurbished. In 2010, Jim Brown's Service & Repair carried out a conversion in which (for the enthusiast) the Flat 6 cylinder engine was replaced with a new Chevy 350 engine with throttle body fuel injection mated with a 700r4, 4-speed transmission controlled by a Hurst shifter in a custom console. 200_3_P1030704R
