Puerto Rico Does It Better (Puerto Rico Lo Hace Mejor) is one of the mottoes of the island and can be found on many registration plates. One could debate if that is aspirational rather than reality. Puerto Rico is a beautiful island but San Juan has many disused or uncompleted buildings. Many of these are along Ashford Avenue (Avenida Ashford) but there is evidence of a revival.
