At the risk of being accused of overdoing it, I am finishing this series of pictures from the GCR with four similar images of LMS Class 2 2-6-0 46251 because I think each has its own merits. The locomotive starts from Rothley with the 2.35pm to Leicester North [2.15pm from Loughborough Central].

LMS Class 2 2-6-0 46521 stands at Loughborough with the 1215 to Leicester North. This shot was taken from the Great Central Road bridge. With quite a lot of comings and goings on the platform and my arms stretched, I am just going to have to accept the feet beneath the canopy!

LMS Class 2 2-6-0 46521 stands at Loughborough with the 1215 to Leicester North. This shot was taken from the Great Central Road bridge. With quite a lot of comings and goings on the platform and my arms stretched, I am just going to have to accept the feet beneath the canopy!

LMS Class 2 2-6-0 46521 stands at Loughborough with the 1215 to Leicester North. This shot was taken as I left Loughborough with reluctance but, I think, could convey the image of ones first or last sight of ones train in a bygone era. This is especially true of the b&w version as the buildings in the background are sufficiently indistinct to make the picture pretty timeless.

At locations which are busy on even non-event days, it is all but impossible to exclude people from ones photographs altogether so I decided to include some in a few pictures as long as they did not unduly distract from the main subject.
