Blackbird Although it was a nice day at Beaulieu, this male blackbird (young perhaps) looked a bit ruffled. TZ70_P1000995

Blackbird Communications - 14 April 2018

16 Apr 2018 83
The refurbished (2016) Communications House between Leicester Square and Whitcomb Street WC2, has what one might call a frieze above the retail level and on all four sides with a motif of a blackbird or blackbirds in flight. As a note of, possibly, some interest, entries on the internet appear slightly contradictory. Communications House dates from the 1920s, was refurbished, completing in 2016 and its address is given as 48 Leicester Square, WC2. The building now accommodates and is alternatively known as LSQ London the address for which is 30 Panton Street, SW1 - postcodes are rather densely packed in this area. Panton Street is perpendicular to Whitcomb Street which is on the west side of the building and is assigned a WC2 postcode. 200_3_P1050409E

Lunch at Alresford (3) - 4 July 2015

15 Jul 2015 124
This picture continues a short series of non-railway subjects photographed, perhaps unexpectedly, on the Mid-Hants Railway. The accessibility of the railway and the relatively gentle pace of its activities allow plenty of time to find subjects away from the locomotives and rolling stock. This blackbird was relatively tame and was engaged in eating some sort of indistinguishable lunch, perhaps a snail recently out of the shell. 200_2_P1050745

Blooming Marvellous (18) - 20 March 2014

Blooming Marvellous - Blackbird In conjunction with the exhibition described below, The Search Hands-on Centre provided access to some of its animal collection in an adjacent room. Each animal represented could be found in knitted form in the Intergenerational Community Knitted Garden - a magical life-size knitted garden. Over 2,500 knitters and crocheters worked with participatory visual artist Pauline Stanley to create the garden complete with knitted flowers and insects, garden shed and picnic. This excellent exhibition was at Gallery @ Gosport Discovery Centre where I have visited several exhibitions and never been disappointed. The centre has an enlightened and accommodating photography policy where the exhibition content allows. 200_P1010869
