Even the harshness of a port did little to diminish the beauty of South Island scenery as we arrived at Port Chalmers early on a Sunday morning. The Iona Presbyterian Church dominates the town view. TZ30_P1020685

In the world of cruise ships, tendering, often using the ship's lifeboats is a common way of providing passenger access to destinations without suitable berths. As the Holland America Oosterdam was anchored in the deep water of Akaroa Harbour, its tenders shuttled back and forth to the town. The area on New Zealand's South Island is absolutely beautiful. 200_2_P1030848
