The modern hangar at WW1 airfield Stow Maries housed four aircraft and two models on this visit. This Auster A.61 Terrier G-ARUI was particularly attractive. X20_DSCF2503C

The Classic Air Force, housed in the former Nimrod hangar at Newquay Airport (St Mawgan) preserves and, in some cases flies, numerous aircraft many of which were previously owned by Air Atlantique and displayed at Airbase Coventry. Beautifully maintained Auster G-JAYI. This was the first aircraft (in the collection) to fly in to Newquay from Coventry and only the second in the hangar. X20_DSCF2194

One thing which underlines the quality of preservation at CAF (and elsewhere) and the effort which goes in to it, is when you learn the age of the aircraft. Auster WE569 was built in 1950.
