The history of this mill, an unexpected sight just off High Street, Sheerness is long and complicated and I don't much care to rely on any single source on the internet. The original Great Mill was built in 1813. It was demolished in 1924. At some stage (probably from 1864) it was known as Rides Mill, the name which is reflected in the passage through which it is reached. A restoration started in 2006 but received a setback in 2008 when the mill caught fire. Nevertheless, the developers persevered and the building is now renamed Watson's Mill and is occupied by an office of Sharrocks Insurance. P1180914
