Go! Rhinos is an exciting public art event in Southampton held 13 July - 22 September 2013. The trail requires a little effort to walk but I think it is worth it. I am posting a series of pictures which will show some portraits and some with the figures in the wider context of a very photogenic city, as here. This shot is rare example of me turning rain to my advantage, something which I have intended to do far more often. I am very pleased with the picture but the heavy rain shown cut short at 5 our attempt to see the last 10 full size rhinos, this being the fifth of the day. The inscription on the edge of the attractive bench reveals a little Southampton history and reads: 'Common Fields near the Town called Magdalen or Maudlin Fields' Rhino Name - Glint (#24) Location - Guildhall Square - West Side Sponsor - Southampton City Council Artist - Sven Odendaal X20_DSCF1792
