One's local area is often the least explored, an omission of which I am acutely aware but only infrequently correct. Today, I had the joy of a brief ramble in Gosport and came across for the first time the oddly conceived Millennium Timespace, an installation built around a not especially attractive sundial. This plaque is to the right of the portico entrance to the sundial shown in my previous picture and marks the placing of a time capsule commemorating the 800th anniversary of the founding of Gosport. I am instinctively wary of commemorations of events long ago because the change from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar makes it hard if not impossible to be accurate. X20_DSCF2266C
