Eastleigh is a place I can reach easily at short notice and I am determined to record periodically the place and its visitors in the early 21st century. Equipment and colour schemes come and go and, one day, my photographs, amongst thousands of others, might be a valuable source of reference. In this opening shot of today's series, Network Rail Class 57 57306 was one of at least five examples around Eastleigh on the bank holiday weekend. Here it stands next to a car of the doomed Class 508 units now being scrapped at the site. P1180816C
