As lunchtime rain fell on Fort-de-France, Martinique, I framed my latest 'When Worlds Collide' shot. It was a bit hurried and is not my favourite but it continues the theme, depicting modern ships in often contrasting surroundings. I would not normally include a shot as busy as this in my collection of cruise ships but this was about as good a picture as I was going to get from any location I could easily access. Croisières de France cruise ship Horizon was at Fort-de-France, Martinique, its port of call between Barbados and St. Kitts on a cruise originating in La Romana, Dominican Republic. This ship will probably not be familiar to my UK based followers but will undertake Scandinavian and Mediterranean itineraries later in 2014. 200_P1010771

Following the delight of our sightings in Puerto Rico (which were half expected) I was thrilled to come unexpectedly across more iguanas in Martinique. It was quite a challenge getting the animal in focus through so much foliage. If you can imagine a wider shot, you might get some idea of how effective the iguana's colouring is as camouflage. 200_P1010767
