Some of my earliest London bus photographs were taken in York Way. Today, I was back on one of my now infrequent visits. I have been tempted to try to photograph more special schemes on the LT but, as an infrequent visitor to London, that is not very practical so it is a case of taking occasional shots. The New Routemaster has not gained my affection as have some bus types but the proliferation of overall schemes does arouse some interest. A vehicle which has carried more than one such scheme is Arriva London Wrightbus NBfL LT209/LTZ1209 seen here in Islington. TZ30_P1040011C

My followers will know that I find the current London bus scene pretty tedious and that it requires special surges of enthusiasm to make me record it. Every now and then documentary dedication defeats deadly dullness and I add a little to the record. To be fair, the actual service seems both intensive and, largely, effective as I saw early on a Sunday morning when countless buses were running in Islington. Relatively light traffic (for the area) made photography easier and I saw vehicles from no fewer than four operators. The low ambient light emphasises the vehicles lights on Arriva New Routemaster LT235/LTZ1235 and Enviro 400 bodied ADL Trident 2 T153/LJ60AWA which have arrived together at Angel on routes 38 and 341 respectively. 200_2_P1020842

London United New Routemaster LT151/LTZ1151 stands in York Way, Kings Cross. The LT has been on the streets of the capital for more than two years now. I have ridden one and found it comfortable but, after careful consideration, I have not warmed to its appearance. I think it is too bold, epitomising (misguided) style over functionality. Nevertheless, it is here to stay for now and I shall add my share of pictures to another collective document of what one day will be in the past. 200_2_P1020483C
