East Kent 7006 in Ramsgate - 14 March 1983

24 Dec 2014 158
This latest scan takes it place as one of my occasional 'hybrid' photographs in which the subject matter serves two (or more) completely different albums. The main subject is, of course, ECW bodied Leyland Atlantean East Kent 7006/JJG6P. However, this view of Queen Street, Ramsgate reveals a little retail history. Freeman Hardy Willis was a shoe chain which ceased trading by 1996. Peter Lord (next door) was also a shoe shop created by Clarks. That name also disappeared from the high street in the 1990s. Geotagging approximate as I did not note the exact location in Queen Street 823129A

Gromit Unleashed (16) - 6 August 2013

07 Aug 2013 188
'Gromit Unleashed' is a public art event to be held in Bristol over the summer of 2013. It is in aid of the Bristol Childrens Hospital. 80 Gromits around Bristol and further afield have been decorated by celebrities and will be auctioned at the end of the event. On our main Gromit hunting visit to the city photography was difficult because it was the school holidays and the character is rather more attractive to parents and children than (the Southampton) rhinos. This example is 'Salty Sea Dog' decorated by Peter Lord and on display at The Cascade Steps. X20_DSCF1795
