Although the Covid era brought changes to the usage of Southampton's berths, Cunard ships are not commonly seen on 101 at City Cruise Terminal. To find Queen Mary 2 port side to quay was an added bonus. 5300_DSC_3162CE

Queen Mary 2 at Torbay - 21 September 2020

As summer turned to autumn in 2020, most of the world's cruise ships remained idle, many along the south coast of the UK where, during the pandemic, I photographed them in three locations in addition to during port calls at Southampton and Portsmouth. Cunard Queen Mary 2 was seen from Babbacombe at Torbay. TZ70_P1020880CE

As cruise industry activity remained suspended during the coronavirus pandemic, no fewer than six ships could be found in Weymouth Bay. It was a magnificent but very sad sight. My photographs were taken from Osmington Mills. P&O's largest ship Britannia is seen flanked by Carnival Valor and Cunard Queen Mary 2 with Marella Discovery. 5300_DSC_1875E
