In the summer of 2019 the wreckage of a Fairey Barracuda which ditched in the Solent during WWII was discovered by crews laying cable in association with the IFA2 project. Large parts of the aircraft were recovered and the finds included two batteries one of which was displayed during a fascinating presentation at the Fareham Innovation Centre on the recovery and the associated Barracuda project at the Fleet Air Arm museum. One of the two batteries had a residual charge after 76 years. Battery
