Build A Better Burger (3) - 4 February 2017

04 Feb 2017 120
The McDonalds at Speedfields Park, Fareham closed in late January 2017 for a major refurbishment of the whole site. Although well patronised, this branch had suffered from limited parking (although there are other car parks nearby) and an awkwardly placed drive thru, the queue for which could affect local traffic movement and access to parking. As the project developed, the scale of it became clear with significant structural alterations retaining part of the original building but extending the front. The steelwork can be seen here. Compare this photograph with a similar view from only three days ago. The amount of rubble around the site showed the extent to which the grounds were being altered and an emerging new kerb line provided further confirmation. 200_2_P1140809C

Although well patronised, this branch had suffered from limited parking (although there are other car parks nearby) and an awkwardly placed drive thru, the queue for which could affect local traffic movement and access to parking. A few days into the project, banners appeared advertising the planned (re-)opening on 7 March. 200_2_P1140798E
