A newcomer to High Street, Gosport is the soon to be opened 70 bedroom Travelodge on a site formerly occupied by several shops and building above. The High Street is not a pretty sight, a place where even poundshops fail to thrive and, although attempts to improve the area deserve a guarded welcome, it does seem like a case of 'if you build it they will come'.
