The drive between Saint-Raphaël and Cannes via the coast (avoiding the A8) is quite spectacular and there are several convenient viewpoints at which one can park safely. The magnificent rocks change colour with the angle of approach and the passage of various clouds so my selection of images reflects some of their varying appearances. This is a view inland from about half way between Calanque du Petit Canareit and Calanque de Saint-Barthélemy. 200_3_P1000429

It would take better photography than mine to capture to best effect the spectacular coastline around Point Lobos near San Francisco but I enjoyed taking a few sequences as an unrelenting sea battered the rocks on even a fine day. I have selected just a very few shots with the predictable spray and breaking waves. 200_2_P1100003

It would take better photography than mine to capture to best effect the spectacular coastline around Point Lobos near San Francisco but I enjoyed negotiating a tunnel as an unrelenting sea battered the rocks below on even a fine day. The tunnel floor has deposits from the less moderate days and the tunnel itself gives access to some of the shots in my short series. Its entrance from the Sutro Baths provides a good frame for Seal Rocks as a number of sea birds enjoy the air. 200_2_P1090991
