To complement my earlier photographs from Ventimiglia, I visited Nice-Ville. France was in the grip of (another) national strike but SNCF had guaranteed a modified service. These were the two units of a combined TGV service 2930/6176 for Paris Gare de Lyon scheduled for 1134. It eventually left at 1143. X20_DSCF2149

I am often shocked when I look back at the passage of time which has seemed to quick. It is nearly 31 years exactly since I took a photograph of an SNCF locomotive from a similar spot at Nice Ville. That was in the back of my mind as I stood on the platform today but I was still surprised at exactly how long ago it was.
