Figures come and go through the Bargate in Southampton on a damp, cold December day. Beyond, a fair brightens Above Bar Street. The carousel is actually quite a frequent feature not confined to Christmas. 200_2_P1020064

After the decline and closure of East Street Shopping Centre in Southampton, a similar fate befell Bargate Shopping Centre. The now defunct Centre is viewed along York Buildings and, I think, the intentional inclusion of the road markings adds impact to the dolour of the scene. P1180804
