The views from Alexandra Palace on an early summer evening take a bit of beating. The residential areas of North London contrast with the constantly developing skyline of the City. The 21st century skyline does not please me. As each building pierces the horizon, there seems no coherence, no planning of the whole. Many have colloquial names which I do not much care for whilst on the ground, the vanity projects of corporations and architectural egos give rise to never ending construction and the attendant disruption.
