As heavy fog slowly retreated around Exeter Airport on an October morning, the plants and grass glistened with moisture and spiders webs. For all the industry which had produced these, no spider was to be seen but the photographic possibilities were endless. The building in the background is part of the Flybe Training Academy. The Miroir d'eau (Water Mirror) in Bordeaux is the world's largest reflecting pool. Covered in 2cm of water, in summer it creates a fog every 15 minutes. This is a source of fascination and amusement to both locals and visitors. One woman apparently found it a sensory experience. A short distance away, a couple struck ballet poses for a photographer in the rising, swirling fog. The pictures, I imagine, were remarkable. 200_2_P1000680M
