One of the most significant variables in photographing buildings is the lighting. If one has regular access to a subject it is worth waiting for the ideal lighting but, when one is going to see a subject only infrequently or even once, then luck is a factor. I was fortunate that such delightful evening light fell upon Truro Cathedral and the Spring trees. This picture has been given only a small tweak, the sky already darkened, in part, by a polarising filter. 200_P1020343

Truro Cathedral, seen here from Pydar Street, is distinctive for being one of only three cathedrals in the UK with three spires. It is also of very recent construction (1880-1910) and was the first cathedral to be built on a new site in England since Salisbury in 1220. 200_P1020237
