Mixed Use Building, Fankfurt - 12 January 2019

Neue Mainzer Straße 24, Frankfurt.
This truly is a record shot. My eye was originally caught by the red surround to the restaurant door but, as it turns out, it offers Thai cuisine, not Chinese, so the picture was no longer destined for CRWDP. My research in finding out this and more about the building revealed that the basic businesses, a casino, a restaurant and Hotel Willy have been in place for some while. The signs for each have changed over the last decade or so and, I think, more than once. Merkur has used different descriptions and altered the fascia accordingly. The restaurant, now Grandma's Kitchen, was Kontiki, a word retained on the signs.

Ziraat Bank, Am Hauptbahnhof 16, 60329 Frankfurt am Main.
Ziraat Bank International AG is a German bank based in Frankfurt am Main. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Turkish universal bank T.C. Ziraat Bankası based in Ankara. It focuses on Turkish-born people and Turkish companies in Germany but also offers its services more widely.
This photograph was taken from a (slightly) sheltered position during pouring rain and looks out across the busy forecourt of Hauptbahnhof. It is dedicated to a special Flickr friend.

Piraeus Bank, Baseler Straße 46, Frankfurt.
There is another face of this branch on the perpendicular Gutleutstraße. It is interesting to note the Eurocheque symbol, still widely seen in, for example Munich and Frankfurt, as part of present day financial services although Eurocheques themselves have been essentially defunct since 2002 upon the official introduction of the Euro by, at the time, twelve countries.
