Euston Today (7) - 11 January 2020

Euston station is one of those which has had the soul sucked out of it by development, a process which started, arguably, in the 1960s and is by no means unique to north London. It's pre-HS2 condition is, frankly, a bit grubby. Gone are the many Class 8x locomotives but it remains important to keep the record of our railways up to date. Just over a month after the start of operations by Avanti West Coast, the Pendolinos I saw were still unbranded. 390049 is seen standing at platform 5. 200_3_P1120154R

Seen on the last day of operation of West Coast Mail Line services by Virgin Trains, Class 390 Pendolino 390151 stands at platform 4 of London's Euston station with the 1200 to Manchester Piccadilly, stripped of the operator's vinyls. Service by Avanti West Coast (FirstGroup/Trenitalia) would start the following day. TZ70_P1010555R
