In this image, two very different genres collide. This street art by an unknown artist in Embankment Way, Ringwood is on gates across the former trackbed of the erstwhile Southampton & Dorchester Railway near the site of the former Ringwood station. Industrial/commercial units occupy some of the space between here and Crow Arch Lane and nearby land is designated for residential development. 200_P1000059

The photographs I have seen depicting the site of the former Ringwood station (Southampton & Dorchester Railway) look down from the bridge in this picture which carries Crow Arch Lane over the trackbed. I chose a view towards Holmsley from track level which, I think, would have been a little east of the station (closed 7 August 1967). 200_P1000064
