On a visit to First Kernow's Newham depot in Truro, I inadvertently courted and, I think, narrowly avoided a photographic disaster. In a fundamental and stupid error, I left the previous night's settings on my camera and shot at 1600 ISO. There is some resultant grain in the pictures but the buses' appearance is, in part, due to the recent weather and road conditions. My photographs were taken with permission and this short series brings you a remarkable variety of liveries from a small depot. I have acheived inconsistent results with my photographs of moving buses especially in the variable light conditions prevalent in the UK, so I like places like this. Pound Tree Lane in Southampton has a mixture of bus stands and stops and sees a variety of users and liveries. In this shot Xelabus Northern Counties bodied Volvo Olympian 505/L6XEL is seen with First Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE 69245/YJ07WFM behind. In the distance are two First Wrightbus StreetLite DFs with City Red branding, 47425/SK63KMV (rear) and 47424/SK63KMU. I have already recorded the brief presence at Eastleigh Works of the new First Streetlites destined for Portsmouth area services. Today was the day to record the presence of some of the vehicles they are replacing. It is reported that these Wright Eclipse Urban Volvo B7RLEs are to be cascaded to Southampton and First Cymru. It is interesting to note the branding which will disappear in the transfers and I wonder if any vehicles will receive new fleet numbers. There were nine buses in total on this visit and the front row of seven contained (l-r) 69397/HY09AZL, 69400/HY09AZJ, 69401/HY09AZG, 69380/HY09AJX, 69396/HY09AZO, 69390/HY09AOS and 69395/HY09AZF.
