Class 33 33002 'Sea King' at Buckfastleigh, South Devon Railway. One of the SDR's best cared for locomotives, I first photographed it in the same location in 2010 when it was in a different livery. TZ70_2_P1000061E

Locomotives from the 1960s and 1930s respectively still going strong in 2021. Class 37 6737 stabled at Buckfastleigh, South Devon Railway whilst 1366 class GWR 0-6-0PT 1369 busies itself with revenue work. TZ70_2_P1000053E

Plum @ the bank, 38 Fore Street, Buckfastleigh, Devon. The style of the name of this hairdressers varies according to the social media site on which it appears but the important thing from the point of view of my content is that it occupies another former bank, Lloyds. To the left, the night safe survives and there is evidence that the Lloyds Bank sign, although clear enough, had at one time another sign screwed over it. 200_3_P1110453E

On 15 April 2014, two DAF vehicles of Allelys completed the move of LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 locomotive 46521 and its tender from Loughborough to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. The STGO Cat 3 locomotive move was undertaken by XF95 T300AHH and was under way by the time I arrived. The vehicle and trailer are seen at rest while the tender move was completed. On 15 April 2014, two DAF vehicles of Allelys completed the move of LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 locomotive 46521 and its tender from Loughborough to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. With the trailer steering very obvious - and essential to manoeuvring in confined spaces - XF95 T300AHH has nearly completed its return from the yard without harm to any of the many parked cars. On 15 April 2014, two DAF vehicles of Allelys completed the move of LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 locomotive 46521 and its tender from Loughborough to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. As XF95 T300AHH emerges from the yard driveway with the now empty locomotive trailer, XF105 510 T200AHH waits to continue inwards with the tender. The locomotive move was STGO Cat 3 and the tender STGO Cat 2. Please also see my album notes 200_P1020388

On 15 April 2014, two DAF vehicles of Allelys completed the move of LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 locomotive 46521 and its tender from Loughborough to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. By the time I arrived, the locomotive move was under way and I saw it only from a distance. In this view, XF95 T300AHH, having deposited the locomotive, reverses along the yard driveway as T200AHH (with the tender) waits outside. This was the beginning of a fascinatingly precise manoeuvre in a narrow space and passing parked cars without event. The operator controlled trailer steering which helps this is evident in this and subsequent pictures. In the background is preserved Class 37 D6737 (currently marked without its D prefix). On 15 April 2014, two DAF vehicles of Allelys completed the move of LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 locomotive 46521 and its tender from Loughborough to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. In this view, the initial manoeuvre by XF105 510 T200AHH with the tender has taken place and the vehicle is waiting for T300AHH to emerge from the yard having deposited the locomotive. On 15 April 2014, two DAF vehicles of Allelys completed the move of LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-0 locomotive 46521 and its tender from Loughborough to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh. When I arrived, the locomotive move was already under way in the yard and the tender, which was the subject of an STGO Cat 2 move, was standing outside. A short while later, the XF105 510 tractor T200AHH reconnected prior to manoeuvring for the short onward journey into the yard. Please also see my album notes 200_P1020381
