1960 Holden Special FB Station Sedan. In August 1960 the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board commissioned a station wagon as New Zealand's first dedicated Fire Brigade Control Car. The original was disposed of in 1973; this is a recreation by MOTAT from another example of the type and is on display at the Auckland museum. 200_2_P1030199

For me, the highlight of MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) in Auckland is its collection of trams which include those running on the Western Springs Tramway between MOTAT, Auckland Zoo and the Aviation Museum. This is my period treatment of Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board W2 No. 321 of 1925 which has just run out of the shed to enter service for the afternoon. 200_2_P1030189_Sepia
