Christmas decorations are in evidence on the Severn Valley Railway at Kidderminster as 0-6-0 Class 09 shunter D4100 'Dick Hardy' performs an afternoon move. There were no passenger operations on this day but the move was reportedly to prepare stock for the following day's Santa specials. 200_3_P1080840R

To be a railway enthusiast these days is to need to own a car and to expect to be frustrated by the fortifications at many locations. I had the opportunity to visit Lovers Walk today and was determined to leave with a photograph. The hilly topography of Brighton does not aid sight lines and 3rd rail electrification means all sorts of fencing and barriers. So, today's shot of beautifully presented Class 09 09026 'Cedric Wares' is a long shot - but I am quite pleased with it. 200_P1040323
