I very much loved the dmus known today in preservation as 'heritage' but once an everyday sight on our railways. Although I never liked the Network SouthEast colours, it was sad to see this MBS in this condition at Eastleigh. This is believed to be Class 117 Pressed Steel 51356. It was photographed by David Hann in much better condition during February 2015. 200_2_P1040487

Network SouthEast, created in 1982, ceased to exist fifteen years later in 1997. A further seventeen years on, this extraordinarily neglected sign can be seen at the Shacklegate Lane entrance to Strawberry Hill Depot. I hope this picture shows that a pleasing composition can be made of the most mundane subject. 200_P1010096
