The Slimming World bus, Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident W575RSG, is touring the UK and Ireland until 29 September 2019. The organisation is celebrating its 50th anniversary and the bus is provided by Commbus, a specialist supplier of promotional vehicles. With the crowds it attracted on its Fareham stop, there was, as it were, a fat chance of a classic bus photograph but at least I captured the event. I could have waited until the crowds thinned out but, for me, it was a case of do or diet. TZ70_P1000861E

Xelabus Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident 526/J8XEL (formerly Y856GCD) at ASDA Fareham on ASDA Free Bus duty. As is the case with many Xelabus vehicles, this registration has been used before within the fleet, having previously been on Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart 404. 200_3_P1060365CE

Sightseeing buses are not prominent in my photostream because I find most of them ugly and their schemes garish or over busy. They are, however, part of the record of many cities today. The Original Tour Plaxton President bodied DAF DB250 DLP251/LJ51DJV was at rest on a wet bank holiday morning in Charing Cross Road just south of Leicester Square station. 200_3_P1050267R

An unexpected sight on an evening visit to Fareham was First Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident 33181/LR02LZA at the town's bus station. I believe this has been cascaded from First Berkshire following the discontinuation of Route 200, the Legoland Shuttle. There is a lot of grain in this night shot which is disappointing at only 1600 ISO but a handheld shot at only 1/4 of a second makes me feel a little happier. 200_3_P1040199E

It is seen in Market Parade, Havant between journeys on Tesco Freebus, thus bringing yet more variety to a service on which I have photographed many vehicles, and carries Itchen Sixth Form College vinyls. 200_2_P1080289

One of my favourite operators, Xelabus, is rather volatile with its registrations, fleet numbers and vehicle names as any attempt on the internet to identify a particular bus will reveal. The number 510, the name 'Isla' and the registration J12XEL have all been used on other vehicles in the fleet. Today, however, they all came together on this Plaxton President bodied Dennis Trident with recently added Peppa Pig World overall advertising. This striking vehicle was seen at ASDA Fareham on Freebus service. 200_2_P1050271

My followers will know that I find the current London bus scene pretty tedious and that it requires special surges of enthusiasm to make me record it. Every now and then documentary dedication defeats deadly dullness and I add a little to the record. To be fair, the actual service seems both intensive and, largely, effective as I saw early on a Sunday morning when countless buses were running in Islington. Relatively light traffic (for the area) made photography easier and I saw vehicles from no fewer than four operators.
