A Sunday morning is a good time to visit Clovelly Road, Southbourne to see some of the Portsmouth City Coaches fleet (active or otherwise) at rest. Four vehicles can be seen in this shot. In front of Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 M555ELK is a Bova Futura bodied VDL N777SSE. I identified only one of the two double deck vehicles in the compound, to the left in this picture, Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied DAF DB250 LJ04LFK. 200_3_P1130325CE

All too often I see interesting buses on rail replacement services and, for a variety of reasons, do not photograph them. I was on a sombre visit to Southampton Airport to record some of the aftermath of the collapse of Flybe so it was a bit of light relief to see Dekkabus 7103/F5CBE, an East Lancs Myllennium Lowlander bodied DAF DB250, in the station car park. During my visit the bus moved forward to operate a service to Poole where the company is based. TZ70_P1020035E

Sightseeing buses are not prominent in my photostream because I find most of them ugly and their schemes garish or over busy. They are, however, part of the record of many cities today. Emsworth & District is one of my favourite companies. Their newer vehicles look smart and it was a pleasant surprise to find ex-Arriva London Transbus ALX400 bodied DAF DB250 LG52DCZ in a Fareham layby. I chose this unusual view to record the comprehensive dedication to the company owners on the back of the vehicle. 200_2_P1090093

Since I photographed this Xelabus Optare Spectra bodied DAF DB250 L131ELJ on 7 October 2014, it has lost its St Vincent College vinyls. In fact, browsing several pictures of the vehicle suggests that it carried those vinyls for only a short while. Today, it was back at ASDA Fareham on Freebus duties. This pleasing sight ticks so many boxes for me. I am a fan of both Xelabus and supermarket free buses not to mention many overall liveries. This Optare Spectra bodied DAF DB250 L131ELJ started service with Wilts & Dorset and was more recently with Velvet before arriving with current operator Xelabus. One of the joys of supermarket services is that the provider often uses a considerable number of its vehicles as my growing number of pictures now confirms. 200_2_P1000821
