London United Wrightbus Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LH VH45231/BF67GKV at Euston shortly before setting off on a new journey on route 18 towards Sudbury. The mind-numbing redness of the London bus scene is relieved only by the vinyl wraps on many of the New Routemasters but the service buses of today still have to be recorded for a future when they no longer exist. Some of my earliest London bus photographs were taken in York Way. Today, I was back on one of my now infrequent visits. I have been tempted to try to photograph more special schemes on the LT but, as an infrequent visitor to London, that is not very practical so it is a case of taking occasional shots. London United Optare Metrocity OCE37001/LJ14SZO (formerly OCE1) at the northbound West End Lane stop on High Street, Harlington. Operating on route H98, it had its hazard flashers on during an unusually protracted stop. TZ30_P1040775E

London United New Routemaster LT151/LTZ1151 stands in York Way, Kings Cross. The LT has been on the streets of the capital for more than two years now. I have ridden one and found it comfortable but, after careful consideration, I have not warmed to its appearance. I think it is too bold, epitomising (misguided) style over functionality. Nevertheless, it is here to stay for now and I shall add my share of pictures to another collective document of what one day will be in the past. 200_2_P1020483C

London United Enviro 200 DE16/YX58DVU on route 285 at New Road (Bath Road), Heathrow. I have an established theme of trying to include the environment or roadside furniture in my bus photographs which I think is particularly necessary with the dull red London scene. 200_P1020727
