A Leopard Can Change Its Spots - 22 June 2016

25 Jun 2016 161
This is the second picture in a short series of four photographs for the bus enthusiast featuring three slightly unusual buses in East Kent. The long history of Marshall bodied Leyland Leopard 273AUF started with Southdown. Now at Dover Transport Museum, awaiting restoration, markings of both Rules (of Boxford) and East Kent can be seen on the slightly distressed bodywork. 200_2_P1110202C

East Kent 7006 in Ramsgate - 14 March 1983

24 Dec 2014 156
This latest scan takes it place as one of my occasional 'hybrid' photographs in which the subject matter serves two (or more) completely different albums. The main subject is, of course, ECW bodied Leyland Atlantean East Kent 7006/JJG6P. However, this view of Queen Street, Ramsgate reveals a little retail history. Freeman Hardy Willis was a shoe chain which ceased trading by 1996. Peter Lord (next door) was also a shoe shop created by Clarks. That name also disappeared from the high street in the 1990s. Geotagging approximate as I did not note the exact location in Queen Street 823129A

East Kent 7681 in Ramsgate - 15 March 1983

19 Dec 2014 130
My latest batch of scans consists of photographs of generally low quality but, hopefully, of interest after 30+ years. This shows East Kent ECW bodied Bristol VR 7681/SKL681X in Grange Road, Ramsgate. I think in such pictures it is worth looking at the background and incidental subjects, often much altered or gone altogether. Geotagging approximate as I did not record the exact spot in Grange Road 822930 - crop
