At the end of my shoot covering The Provincial Society's Ale & Ride event, Lucketts operated Caetano Levante bodied Scania K410 EB6 X560656/BK67LOF, is seen setting off from Fareham Bus Station. The preserved vehicles such as First Plaxton Pointer Dart 42728, seen left, had plenty of space to stand as First itself was not operating in the area on New Years Day and National Express were the only other users of the bus station. 5300_DSC_1653CE

On New Years Day 2020, The Provincial Society operated an Ale & Ride event from Gosport and Fareham Bus Stations using a number of preserved vehicles. After my Gosport shoot [qv], I had taken a break in Havant and then made my way to Fareham where I saw four participants which included the very well known Southampton City Transport Leyland Atlantean 133/TTR167H. As had been the case at Gosport, First were running no service so there plenty of room for the Ale & Ride buses and a couple of National Express vehicles one of which, Lucketts operated Caetano Levante bodied Scania K410 EB6 X560656/BK67LOF, is seen setting off from the bus station. 5300_DSC_1652CE

Heavy rain had spoiled viewing of a Dragon Boat festival at North Harbour, Portsmouth so this Optare Excel 666VMX/3401 of Lucketts Travel was a welcome find. The 1000 Lakeside office complex is quiet at the weekends and this shuttle bus was idle. X20_DSCF1117

I always enjoy photographing Lucketts coaches as it is an operator which appeals to me and is local. On this visit to Gosport there were no fewer than four vehicles in the vicinity of the Gosport Museum/Discovery Centre. Three were in Ordnance Road and this fourth in Clarence Road. This is Lahden Omniexpress bodied Scania YT11LPC/5359. The sharp-eyed observer in Gosport will note that, at the High Street end of Clarence Road, signs on opposite sides read 'Clarence Road' and 'Clarence Rd. South'. P1190005C

I could not get the shots I wanted because the drivers were resting and some of the doors were open so I decided to go for an unusual composition with the intentional inclusion of the trees. From the camera are Irizar bodied Scania YN12BVS/4969, Lahden Omniexpress bodied Scania YT11LPA/5358 and Irizar bodied Scania YN08DFF/4803. I am particularly pleased with this shot as the orange in the Lucketts scheme seems to complement the autumn trees. P1190004
