Hope Springs Eternal This is really not what you want or expect of midsummer. The small hours of 22 June heralded by sound the inevitable sights of the morning. A solstice come and gone; a 'supermoon' obscured (although my Mum saw it); a scene perhaps better captured on video but, as I am no master of that, I faced the challenge of still photography in which you can not hear or see the effects of the wind. I wanted to go further than I have in previous similar shots and called upon the resources of my new X20 and its ability to shoot partial colour which I can not currently do in pp. I am absolutely thrilled with this shot SOOC in which my exact intent has been fulfilled by a wonderful camera. In this image, an optimistically red car peers from behind a suburban garage to defy the unseasonal elements and anticipate a joyous excursion later. X20_DSCF1293

Predictable it might be but I wanted my own take on bicycles in Amsterdam where they are called 'Fietsen'. I am especially pleased with the vivid colour SOOC from my Fujifilm X20. X20_DSCF1213C
