This is not exactly breaking news as it took me a while to getting round to photographing this addition to my 'Consumer and Retail History' album. However, at the time of its opening in September 2014, the little Waitrose (sic) in John Lewis' Southampton store, was only the second (in a John Lewis) in the country. Highcross Leicester is the city's retail and leisure hub and also offers some of its most striking modern architecture. The major retailer is John Lewis and its advertising can be seen from all approaches. Part of the centre is viewed here across yet another piece of wasteland. 200_P1040569
