From the time I first spotted the Anglican Church in Roseau, I knew that I would have to wait all day for the light required for this shot. My earlier pictures were from closer quarters but I very much wanted this shot too in one of the so-called golden hours. 200_3_P1100402R

The Anglican Church (1820) in Roseau, Dominica has not fared well in recent decades. It was severely damaged by Hurricane David in 1979 and the roof was again destroyed by Hurricane Maria in 2017. I am fascinated by ruins as photographic subjects but this site is doubly important for having next to it the wonderfully moving Neg (also Nèg) Mawon Emancipation Monument which features prominently earlier in my photostream. 200_3_P1100374C
