Marchwood Incinerator (Marchwood Energy Recovery Facility) is a waste incineration plant in Marchwood, near Southampton. It is situated on the west side of Southampton Water, opposite the port. It burns municipal waste and produces electricity for the National Grid. 200_2_P1050026C

The Point Class vessels, of which 'Anvil Point' is one example, are a familiar sight at Marchwood and I have photographed them from various vantage points. Today, a walk in Southampton provided a new view across the top of the drinking fountain near the Mayflower monument. X20_DSCF1617

This view from Marchwood level crossing, towards Totton shows evidence of the maintenance still received by the line as there are men at work on the signal gantry. A substantial team was divided between the up and down ends of the station and the station area itself. X20_DSCF1276
