John Oram's photos with the keyword: Deltic

As restrictions continue and we crawl on hands and knees towards various milestones, I have turned again to my archive. On previous occasions, I decided not to scan certain pictures because of quality, composition or lack of accompanying information. Over recent years, I have improved my editing techniques (you might not agree) and I can better recover some of my older images even if the composition is not always what I would accept today. The mighty Deltics, which were at the heart of Kings Cross before it had the soul sucked from it, were in the last year of their operational lives when I photographed 55011 'The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers' at the London terminus. This is the scene which greeted me at platform level at Loughborough Central, Great Central Railway. In shot (from camera) are Class 33 D6535, Deltic D9016 'Gordon Highlander', Class 27 5401, Class 47 D1705 'Sparrowhawk' and Class 45 45041 'Royal Tank Regiment'.
