Chesapeake Mill (1820), Bridge Street, Wickham.
Chesapeake Mill, is a sister company of Pump House Auctions based at Soberton Pumping Station [qv] and is prominently advertised there. The former water mill used in its construction timbers from HMS Chesapeake, formerly the USS Chesapeake and captured from the Americans in the war of 1812. Subsequent to her capture, the frigate was used by the Royal Navy until she was broken up in 1819. The mill operated from 1820 until 1976.
